Planting trees
Depending on the landscape, we use different technologies for planting trees and supporting seedlings. But the main way to support seedlings is to use WaterBoxx technology. AquaPro, founded by Peter Hoff, is the maker of the Groasis Waterboxx, an experimental device that stores water and protects.
On flat areas with a minimum slope, landscape preparation is not done or is done in minimal volumes. For example, the floodplain section of a drying up stream is very flat. Its slope is no more than 5 meters in height by 1 kilometer in length. On such a site it will be enough to use the African technology of Yacouba Sawadogo "Zai". This simple technique consists of digging holes on a flat surface. Rainwater accumulates in the holes and is absorbed into the ground, instead of flowing down the slope into the stream bed and quickly leaving the site.
Yacouba Sawadogo perfected this method and began to fill the holes with mulch using all possible materials, for example, straw, manure or compost. These small changes will better fill the earth's body with moisture and increase the seedlings' chances of survival.
On areas with steep slopes and hills, we make landscape preparation taking into account the condition of the soil and the features of the relief.
Within one year after landscaping, we monitor the condition of the site and measure the level of groundwater. Based on the observation results, a decision is made on the need to use the Waterboxx technology.
