Briefly about the history of cursor control

A cursor is a graphical interface element that points to an object that will be interacted with using another control device. The cursor was first created in 1968 by American inventor Douglas Carl Engelbart and a team from the Stanford Research Institute.

Initially, the cursor simply showed a place to write and enter information and could be moved with keyboard arrows. Later, the cursor began to work as a device that points to a point on the screen without the need for a keyboard.

As a result, the cursor became a very important part of computer control and required the addition of the ability to use a trackball, mouse or touchpad.

And in 2024, a new invention for cursor control appeared. This is exactly what this site was created for.
